Calling acoustic musos

Local Folk is a platform for local acoustic-driven and acoustic-based musicians to showcase their talent.

LOCAL musicians are encouraged to join Local Folk events held monthly in Glenwood.

Musicians Dave Wright and Glen Olsen said Local Folk is a platform for local acoustic-driven and acoustic-based musicians to showcase their talent. Events are held to encourage people to pick up their instruments again and perform.

“Music can be any genre, from metal, traditional or alternative. We have a core of people who support us, but we are also encourage new musicians to join in. We need to encourage music in the youth, and this is a good showcase for new, semi-professional or professional musos,” said Glen.

“Not only is it a good time out, enjoying either playing to an audience or being part of the audience listening to music, but we support a good cause through the events,” said Glen, who has taken on the Highway Hospice as a charity.
