Bridal and beauty show at the Suncoast

Special features include a Win a Wedding competition and twice daily fashions shows.

THE 29th annual Brabys Future Bride, Bridal and Beauty Show takes place from 1 to 3 March at The Globe at Suncoast. Show manager, Justine Snyman said there have been notable changes in wedding trends, particularly in the themes that are gaining popularity. “In the past, themes predominantly took shape in specific colours for décor, bridesmaids dresses and stationary. Modern weddings take this a step further by choosing an overarching theme that is evident in every aspect of the wedding – from glitz and glamour to night-time weddings. A popular theme at the moment are ‘green’ weddings, starting with eco-friendly invitations and registry stationery, edible favours and donations of flowers and leftovers to a good cause,” said Snyman. The all-important dress takes a bold step away from the traditional as brides showcase their personality through their style. Bridal make-up, while still natural, will see darker, bolder elements enter for a romantic and striking look. Alana-Jane Halgreen from Kiss and Make-Up, a local make-up artist, hairstylist and influencer, says that universal touches are becoming more popular. Embracing the natural also extends to hairstyles, with brides opting for refined everyday looks with add texture to complete the perfect look. More than 100 wedding suppliers, beauticians, florists, photographers, venues and event co-ordinators will be at the show to provide prospective brides wedding inspiration, the best deals and advice.

Special features include a Win a Wedding competition valued at over R170 000 for one lucky couple attending the show and twice daily fashions shows on Saturday, 2 and Sunday, 3 March.
