Alyn Adams’ cannabliss at Heat City Comedy Fest
The show explores the many uses over the years to which humans have put cannabis.
CANNABLISS is a one-man stand-up comedy show, written and performed by Alyn Adams, which is scheduled for one performance only at the Heat City Comedy Festival at 6pm on Sunday, 4 August at the Seabrooke’s Theatre at Durban High School.
The show explores the many uses over the years to which humans have put cannabis – including the most obvious one. It’s a 10 000-year amble through history, stopping to smoke the flowers – or perhaps it’s a lecture with jokes, exploring hemp’s myriad industrial uses, from rope, textiles, and building material, to food, paper, bioplastics, biofuel and more.
There will be stoner jokes, too, of course (assuming he remembers them all) – and a look at the medical research – but Alyn hopes to convince even people who have no interest in ingesting the weed that prohibition does more harm than good.
Tickets for Cannabliss are availble at R80 pre-sale from Webtickets and Pick-n-Pay or R100 at the door.
The Heat City Comedy Festival runs from 30 July to 4 August at various venue around Durban. More info can be found on facebook.com/HeatCityComedyFest.
