Jazz ensemble pays tribute to Johnny Clegg
The programme includes ensemble singing as well as the close-harmony vocal jazz ensemble, UKZN Voices.
The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music hosts a programme of vocal music featuring Jazz Voice students from the UKZN School of Arts (Music) on Wednesday, 14 August at 6pm.
The programme includes ensemble singing as well as the close-harmony vocal jazz ensemble, UKZN Voices, directed by Debbie Mari. UKZN Voices will sing Joseph Kosma’s Autumn Leaves and a new arrangement of The Crossing arranged by Concord Nkabinde as a special tribute to Johnny Clegg.

Other vocal jazz talents will include Sne Cele, Courtney Pendy, Menzi Cele, Nomalanga Khanyile, Lwazi Khuzwayo, Sanele Khubisa, Wandithanda Makandula, Busi Hlokoza, Nosihe Zulu, Andiswa Maduna and Nomfundo Cele.Doors open at 5.30pm. Tickets cost R80 for general admission, R50 pensioners and R25 for students.
