Durban jazz guitarist in concert

Talented Durban guitarist, Nick Pitman will kick off this year's Centre for Jazz and Popular Music Programme.

TALENTED Durban guitarist, Nick Pitman, will kick off this year’s Centre for Jazz and Popular Music programme on Wednesday, 5 February at 6pm.

Pitman is an all-round artist, producer and music scholar with over 10 years’ experience.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Music summa cum laude from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2018 and has toured the country and the world as a regular session musician, including playing at the Oslo Jazz Festival.

Pitman will be joined by his quintet with himself on the guitar, Thabo Sikhakhane on the trumpet, Freeman Gumede on bass, David Langley on piano and Riley Giandhari on drums.

The Centre for Jazz and Popular music (CJPM) is at Level 2, Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus. Doors open at 5.30pm.

Tickets are R90 for general admission, R60 for pensioners and R30 for students.
