With proverbial bomb payouts at the Polytrack throughout October, the trend looks likely to continue on Friday.

The Fairview Pick 6 has been paying proverbial bombs throughout October – and the trend looks likely to continue at Friday’s Polytrack meeting in the Windy City.
On 1 October, the dividend was R428,858 with a carryover of R230,785. On 8 October, the payout was R233,553; on the 11th R257,368, and on the 15th R460,462 with a R378,867 carryover.
That spells disappointment for most punters and ecstasy for a very few.
The form in most races on Friday looks encouraging at first glance, but a flip back through October’s Eastern Cape results demonstrates how wrong first impressions can be. There are simply too many horses that could spring surprises for any punter to rest easy.
However, they will be brave and have a stab. In which case, the advice is to try to find a banker or two. That’s a formidable task, so the next best option is to try to narrow down selections in a couple of races.
Perhaps Race 5 has potential, with Lollapalooza owing faithful backers rather a lot of money. She’s been running well for weeks but not delivering that all-important win.
Grouping Alan Greeff’s charge with Sharon Kotzen’s consistent filly Twice To Heaven and/or Gavin Smith’s recent winner Abia looks a relatively safe option.
If you’re on a budget, pick one of them and keep fingers crossed.
In the eighth and last race, refuge presents itself with Greeff’s Mesmerizing Moon, Smith’s Mabella and Juan Nel’s Variety Breeze.
For the remainder of the Pick 6 legs, it’s hit and miss – more so than usual. May you hit.
