NPO brings holiday spirit to Van Dyk Park
The event featured festive activities and provided joy to many families in need, showcasing the spirit of community and generosity that defines the holiday season.
The Bethlehem House of Bread held a Christmas Cheer event for underprivileged children on December 7 in Van Dyk Park.
Ansa Mostert, the Bethlehem House of Bread manager, and Hettie Van Zyl, a volunteer in the initiative, organised the event.
According to Van Zyl, the celebration was particularly meaningful for Mostert because she honoured her late husband’s legacy, who had previously organised similar events.
“After her husband passed away, she felt a strong urge to continue his work,” said Van Zyl.
Van Zyl joined her efforts to ensure children from disadvantaged backgrounds could enjoy a special holiday experience.
