Donation of shoes makes a difference in learners’ lives

Reiger Park Primary, Lakeside Primary, Drommedaris Primary, Goede Hoop Primary, Oos Rand Secondary and Reiger Park Technical benefited from this generous donation.

MEC Shayla Peters has made a significant impact on the educational landscape of Reiger Park, by distributing 400 pairs of shoes to learners across six local schools on February 3.

The initiative was made possible through a collaboration with Polyco and Pick n Pay, highlighting the importance of community partnerships in supporting education.

Lakeside Primary was one of the schools that benefited from the donation.

The schools that benefited from this generous donation include Reiger Park Primary, Lakeside Primary, Drommedaris Primary, Goede Hoop Primary, Oos Rand Secondary and Reiger Park Technical.

Peters emphasised the importance of ensuring that children can pursue their educational journeys with dignity, confidence, and comfort.

“This initiative is part of a broader commitment by the Gauteng Department of Environment to uplift communities and support educational initiatives. A special acknowledgement was given to the Reiger Park Community Forum for facilitating this impactful partnership with Polyco and Pick n Pay.

“Together, we are paving the way for a more dignified and empowered learning experience for the youth of Reiger Park.”
