St Dom’s unites in celebration of annual Angel’s Mass
As the matrics prepare to say goodbye, St Dominic’s honours tradition and togetherness at their annual Angel’s Mass.
St Dominic’s Catholic School for Girls recently gathered for their much-loved annual Angel’s Mass, a special tradition that unites the entire school community in faith and celebration.
Held in the school’s Jubilee Centre, the Mass brought together students from the youngest two-year-old class right through to the matric group.
The occasion honoured the Holy Guardian Angels – St Raphael, St Gabriel, and St Michael – and was led by Father Sizwe.

For the matric girls, the Angel’s Mass carried extra meaning as it marked their final time celebrating this cherished tradition alongside the whole school.
A particularly touching moment came as the Grade One students accompanied the matrics during the service, symbolising a special bond between the youngest and oldest learners.
“This mass is a cherished tradition at St Dominic’s, and it creates lasting memories for our matrics as they prepare for their Valedictory Mass and final exams,” said the school’s marketing manager, Sharon Antonizzi.
