Hijackers strike again

A man was hijacked on Friday afternoon, last week, when he stopped to chop wood in a veld along Heidelberg Road, near Minnebron.

According to information received from Brakpan police, the man stopped in the area at about 12.30pm and, while loading the wood onto his Hyundai H100, he noticed three males approaching him.

As he opened the door to get into his vehicle, the males confronted him and pointed firearms at him.

He was instructed to lie on the ground and the men searched him before fleeing in his Hyundai.

A case of hijacking was opened and police are investigating.

This is the second hijacking along Heidelberg Road in the past two weeks.

The Herald reported in last week’s edition that a 46-year-old man was hijacked of his Mercedes Benz by four men travelling in a grey Audi (Man hijacked on Heidelberg Road).

The incident took place on Saturday, September 28, at about 11.30am, when the man was forced off the road by the hijackers.
