Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend (June 27, 28 and 29):

Friday

Thieves broke into a car parked along Magnolia Street, Dalpark.

A CD player and several CDs, as well as the vehicle’s tyres and magwheels, were stolen.

Two burglaries were reported.

Television sets, clothing and laptops were stolen.

Saturday

Five homes were broken into.

The burglaries took place, along Camelthorn Crescent, Masefield Street, Kiepersol Crescent and Kurkhout Street, in Dalpark, and along Kouga Street, in Leachville.

Two bicycles, five television sets and a DVD player were stolen.

A gang of men robbed a business in Van Eck Park at about 3.30pm.

A security guard patrolling the premises, situated along Jan Buis Street, was confronted by one of the robbers, who pointed a gun at him forced him to open the gate.

More robbers, travelling in a taxi, entered the premises and forced the guard into a room, where they bound his feet and hands with his shoelaces.

The robbers, suspected to be between 15 and 20 men, stole boxes of globes and loaded them onto a truck and a Peugeot vehicle (model and colour unknown).

A man was robbed of his cellphone along Etosha Avenue, Dalpark.

The man was walking home at about 5.10pm when he was approached by two men, one of whom pointed a firearm at him.

They took his cellphone and fled.

A car parked at an address along Essenhout Street, Dalpark, was robbed of its tyres, magwheels, a DVD player and sound system.

Thieves broke into a car parked along Wenden Avenue and stole its CD player and an amplifier.

Sunday

A computer was stolen from a home in Wilgerivier Avenue, Leachville.
