The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (October 10 to 11):

Cases reported:

• Theft: 5

• Common assault: 1
• Hijacking: 1
• Intimidation: 1
• Sexual assault: 2
• Residential burglary: 2
• Possession of drugs: 3
• Shoplifting: 1
• Theft from motor vehicle: 2

Arrests:

• Speeding: 3

• Theft: 1

Hijacking:

• A gang of men travelling in two vehicles made off with a grey Ford Ranger bakkie after hijacking its driver along Heidelberg Road, near Geluksdal, yesterday (Wednesday).

The incident took place at 12.20pm when the hijackers, who were travelling in a grey BMW and a silver Ford Everest, boxed the victim in and forced him to stop.

He was bundled into the back of the bakkie at gunpoint and driven to an unknown location, where the hijackers removed the vehicle’s tracking device.

The victim was dropped off near Alberton.

Burglary:

• Crassila Street, Minnebron.

The burglary took place on Tuesday.

Stolen: A TV, laptop and kitchen appliances.

• Tinker Road, Brenthurst.

The break-in occurred yesterday.

Stolen: A car battery charger.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• Tyres and rims were stolen from a car parked at an address along Loerie Lane in Anzac on Tuesday.

• On Tuesday, a battery was stolen from a vehicle in Kitzinger Avenue.
