The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (February 7 to 8):

Cases reported:

• Theft from motor vehicle: 2
• Culpable homicide: 1
• Theft of motor vehicle: 2 (one Pretoria case)
• Shoplifting: 1
• Speeding: 8
• Assault GBH: 1
• Theft: 3
• Robbery with other weapon: 1
• Possession of stolen property: 1
• Common assault: 1
• Robbery with firearm: 1

Arrests:

• Robbery: 2
• Theft: 1
• Illegal immigrants: 3
• Sexual assault: 1
• Speeding: 8

Robbery with firearm:

• A man was robbed after boarding a taxi along Athlone Avenue in Dalview last night (Thursday).

The incident took place at about 9pm and the victim was threatened with a gun and a knife.

The victim was robbed of cash and the forced out of the vehicle.

Robbery with other weapon:

• A woman was robbed in the driveway of her Thomas Street, Brenthurst, home yesterday.

The victim was attacked by two men, one of whom was armed with an Okapi knife, as she was closing her garage door at about 8.50am.

The pair ran off with the victim’s jewellery, which included a wristwatch and rings.

Two suspects were  arrested.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A white Mazda Rustler was stolen from Kitzinger Avenue yesterday.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• On Wednesday, wheels were stolen from a vehicle parked at an address along Freel Street in Minnebron.

• A car parked in Malherbe Street, Brenthurst, was stripped of its wheels on Wednesday.
