The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (March 6 to 7):

Cases reported:

• Residential burglary: 2
• Contempt of court: 1
• Inquest: 1
• House robbery: 1
• Theft from motor vehicle: 2
• Shoplifting: 1
• Fraud: 2
• Possession of drugs: 1

Arrests:

• Murder: 1
• Common assault: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Rape and common assault: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1

House robbery:

• A 68-year-old woman was robbed in her home along Masefield Street in Dalpark Extension 11 yesterday (Wednesday).

Two men gained entry to the house around 10.30am.

The victim was confronted in her bedroom by one of the robbers, who instructed her not to look at him.

He covered the victim with a blanket.

After ransacking the house, the robbers fled with jewellery, cellphones and other household items.

Burglary:

• Trollip Street, Brenthurst.

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: TVs, a hi-fi system and a guitar.

• Hamilton Avenue.

The home was burgled on Tuesday.

Stolen: A TV, a laptop, a sound system and a wristwatch.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• A car parked at Mall@Carnival on Saturday was broken into. The vehicle’s radio and speakers were stolen.

• On Tuesday, a radio was stolen from a car parked along Northdene Avenue.
