Bakkie driver hijacked in driveway

Two hijackers pounced on the victim as he was leaving home.

A Hoy Avenue resident was robbed of his vehicle in the driveway of his home last Friday morning.

According to local police, the victim was reversing his silver Isuzu double cab bakkie out of his yard at around 08:00 when a man got into the vehicle and placed his arms around the victim’s neck.

A second hijacker got into the bakkie and the victim was instructed to lie down and his head was covered with his jacket.

He was driven around for about 20 minutes, after which the hijackers stopped and searched him.

The victim was robbed of his wallet and cellphone and later dropped off in a field near a local school.
