The driver, accompanied by one passenger, had stopped at a red traffic light when two men appeared at the driver’s side window.

One of them pointed a gun at the driver and told him to get out of the car. The hijacker then reached in through the open window to unlock the vehicle.

When the driver and passenger exited the car, the hijackers climbed in and drove off in the direction of Tsakani.

Saturday – A white Toyota Corolla Cross was stolen from the corner of Reitz and Paul Kruger streets in Dalview.

Sunday – Three security guards on duty at a business along 2nd Road in Sallies Village were threatened at gunpoint by two intruders.

After returning to the guardroom after a patrol just after 20:00, one of the guards saw a man outside. He alerted his colleagues and they fled to a bathroom to escape through a window.

Their attempt was thwarted by another man, who was waiting outside. One of the intruders then fired a shot, and the guards were forced back inside the guardroom and instructed to lie down.

The men demanded firearms and searched the guardroom. One of them then made a phone call instructing someone to bring the vehicle closer to the gate.

The robbers then took the gate keys and left. Three cellphones, a hand radio with a charger, a torch, and a backpack with other belongings were stolen. It was not disclosed whether anything was taken from the business.
