Trying to phone them is a dead loss and going to see them proves nothing.
My husband and I are both pensioners and we only receive our pensions in the first week of each month.
Of course our metro requires payment by the 20th of the month.
So, inevitably, we are issued with a final demand and charged R87.78, over and above what we owe.
Last month our electricity was cut off without any notification whatsoever.
Notices were put in all the neighbours’ postboxes around here and what is annoying is that they now photograph these houses too.
Who gives them this right to invade our privacy?
As far as I am concerned this metro is raking in many thousands of Rand in another scam.
Our postal service is so poor we hardly receive any mail, and our accounts are never received on time, sometimes only two weeks later.
So, to the metro, I suggest you sort out your mailing system first.
You could personally deliver our accounts, seeing you have time to ride to nearly every property delivering final demands and taking photographs.
Changing your due date to suit residents’ pay days, to a standard, reasonable date, might also help.
We cannot afford to be lumbered with your extra charges.
