This noise is too much

Lucille Britz writes by email: The noise taking place at the corner of Wenden Street and High Avenue is getting unbearable.

I live nearby and at night there is just no rest because the music is played until the early hours of the morning.

It’s so loud that you can’t even hear your TV in your own home.

Upon calling the Brakpan police, you are told they only deal with crime and noise complaints must be reported to the traffic department.

What’s loud music got to do with the traffic department?

What’s happening to our once peaceful town?

You can’t even sleep at night and the police just ignore it,not to mention the drugs being sold in the open.

Editor’s note: Capt Joep Joubert, spokesperson for the Brakpan police station commander, told the Herald that disturbance of the peace complaints can be reported to police any time of the day.

“The complainant is welcome to open a docket at the police station,” he said.
