United were bowled all out for 138 runs in 36.1 overs with Shaun Fourie top-scoring with 42 runs followed by Anthony Kruger with 35 runs.
Fourie’s all-round ability was showcased when he bowled a match-changing 5/28 in seven overs as Springs fell agonisingly close, losing by three runs in the end.
In the Director’s League, a low-scoring affair resulted in a tied match between United and Elsburg.
Both teams were bowled out for a mere 68 runs to force a tied result.
