Hoffman revels in windy conditions

“I’m good in the crosswinds and today it just showed again.”

The windy conditions in Brakpan were no problem for Nolan Hoffman as he won the elite men’s category of the Macsteel Cycle Classic at Carnival City, on Sunday.

Hoffman enjoyed the conditions as he emerged victorious in the race he had previously won in 2016.

“Before the race I was hoping for such weather conditions and I must say it was pumping today,” said Hoffman.

“I’m good in the crosswinds and today it just showed again.”

Hoffman took the lead in the last 30km and used his sprinting abilities to win the race ahead of second-placed Louis Visser and Jason Oosthuizen.

Ekurhuleni’s Lynette Burger showed that she has recovered from the near fatal crash she suffered last year as she won the women’s elite race.
