The Rock Raceway delivers a weekend of thrills
The Rock Raceway was the centre of motorsport action as local and international drivers battled it out in a thrilling weekend of racing.
The Rock Raceway in Brakpan was buzzing with excitement over the past weekend as packed grandstands and enthusiastic crowds gathered for Speed Weekend, witnessing a spectacular display of motorsport.
The venue hosted Round 3 of the 2026 National Hot Rod Tour, delivering close racing and plenty of action for fans.
In the National Hot Rod class, Glen Bell took the top step of the podium, followed by Seef Fourie in second and Jason Loosemore in third.

Bell, from Northern Ireland, added another special achievement to his visit to South Africa.
The reigning 2026 National Hot Rod World Final Champion, and also the 2013 National Hot Rod World Final Champion, brought his wealth of championship experience to The Rock and claimed his NHT trophy at the local circuit.
The international talent continued in the spectacular V8 Sprint Car class, where Cole Powell of Canada joined South Africa’s best drivers on the oval.

Powell is a Nascar Pinty’s Series race winner, a multi-time feature winner and a former Nascar Modified Rookie of the Year.
One of Canada’s leading oval racing talents, he added an international flavour to an already action-packed weekend.
The weekend delivered everything spectators could have hoped for, including international stars, local heroes and racing action from start to finish.
