Another blue-light hijacking took place in the Carletonville area this week.

The victim (44) was driving his employer’s Toyota Hilux GD-6 on the R501 to Benoni on September 18.

As he neared the turn-off to Blybank at about 08:10, he suddenly noticed another white Toyota Hilux bakkie behind him.

The driver of this bakkie, which did not have number plates, flashed his lights at the vehicle. The driver also turned on a blue light on the dashboard.

When the victim stopped, two men wearing SAPS reflective jackets walked up to him. They questioned him and then accused him of speeding.

Suddenly, one of the men pulled out a firearm and forced the victim onto the back seat of his own bakkie.

They ordered him to lie down, then drove off with him. After driving around for a few hours, the thugs transferred him to another vehicle and took his cellphone and bank cards.

They later dropped him off in Green Village in Soweto.
