Officials reach out to primary school in Wedela

This was a collaboration between law enforcers and healthcare workers.

Members of the police in Wedela, as well as other public officials, reached out to a local primary school.

According to Constable Morera Mkhonto, she was joined by Sergeant Zikhona Sifuba, Constable Makinta, and members of the Victim Friendly Room during an outreach to Wedela Primary School. Other officials, such as Tsietsi Matlhabe from Wedela Clinic, also helped the public during the action.

During the campaign, learners were educated about the negative effects of bullying and substance abuse to promote a safe, healthy, and supportive school environment. Learners were also screened for various ailments and provided with the necessary assistance by the professional personnel who were present on the day.

“The initiative highlighted the importance of collaboration between law enforcement, healthcare professionals, and other government stakeholders in addressing social challenges affecting learners and promoting their well-being,” Mkhonto added.
