BLO members go hiking

These residents realize he importance of getting out into nature.

Businesswomen from the Black Ladies Organization in Merafong participated in the Segwati Challenge at the ranch of the same name on Saturday, 13 April. Gold, silver and bronze medals awaited the first three to finish.

According to the BLO chairperson, Mrs Blessing Ramphomane, her organisation is part of the Merafong Hiking Club, which organised the event. The club meets monthly and organises hikes on two Saturdays in the month. Hiking promotes a healthy lifestyle in a natural environment.

“Through hiking and being in nature, we practice mindfulness to quiet the mind and cultivate inner peace,” Ramphomane explained. “Embracing positivity and self-love fosters the realisation that we have the power to take control of our thoughts and emotions.”

While BLO members are better known for their shoe drives, business breakfasts, and supporting women in business, they have participated in similar recreational activities since last year.
