Andiswa Mbantsa, a talented gospel singer, is currently on a national tour and will be performing at the Civic Centre in Carletonville at 18:00 this Sunday, 31 April. The 29-year-old singer has been a member of the internationally recognised gospel group, “Joyous Celebration” for the past five years. Although she grew up in Welkom in the Free
State, she is now based in Johannesburg. Andiswa is a born musician, raised in a musical family. She started singing
at the age of eight and was involved in the school and church choirs. Andiswa’s love for God inspired her to pursue gospel music and she loves to spread the word of God through her musical talent. She began taking her career seriously when auditioned for the “I want to sing gospel” television show in 2008. She recorded her album, “Living
God” two years later with songs like “Hao Mathata”. She is a lead singer and backup vocalist for Joyous Celebration and Gospel Classics. Her biggest highlight was being part of the Joyous 20 DVD recording at the fully-packed Moses MabhidaStadium in Durban in 2015. Andiswa, who is also a solo artist, lists performing in her own shows as
another highlight. She has worked with national artists like Zahara and Simphiwe Dana and, as a professional artist, she has performed in countries like Ghana,Cameroon, Kenya and Swaziland. Speaking about her performance
on Sunday, Andiswa says, “I promise to give my all, give the people a good time and make certain they acknowledge
the Lord,” the gospel sensation smiles. Gospel lovers can also expect other Joyous Celebration members like Sbusiso
Mthembu and Nomthi Sibisi as well as local talent in the form of Hlumi Jali and Jonkie Jay. Contact Andiswa on Facebook: Andiswa Mbantsa, Instagram: Andiswa_Mbantsa and Twitter:andiswambantsa,email:ambantsa@gmail.com
