Gladiator Community Protection is not only a security company but also offers other services to keep its clients and
other members of the community safe.
‘It doesn’t matter what type of emergency situation you may experience, we are your answer,’ says Gladiator’s managing director, Mr Eugene (Pottie) Potgieter.
Although Gladiator has been a trusted security company in the area for years, it has now grown extensively to much more than that. By incorporating Mr Gerrit Bradnick, who has been known as one of Merafong’s best paramedics
for decades, Gladiator now also offers advanced life support that is on par with the top national companies delivering
such services.
Gladiator has become the first security company ever to be registered with the Health Professions’ Council of South Africa as a supplier of neonatal advanced life support. This is in addition to the advanced life support Gladiator
renders with its ambulances and paramedics in the Carletonville, Fochville, Westonaria and Randfontein areas. Gladiator is also contracted as the dedicated service provider for Netcare in the far West Rand.
‘We don’t have to call paramedics to a scene, we are paramedics,’ says Potgieter.
To supply the best service possible to clients, Gladiator currently has 14 paramedics, two fully equipped intensive
care ambulances and three medical response vehicles. Within the next couple of weeks, there will also be two more
ambulances, one for Fochville and one for Westonaria.
Gladiator’s advanced life support services are automatically included in the alarm monitoring and armed response
services provided to all Gladiator clients.
Being a Gladiator client also ensures other perks like free stabilisation at an accident or emergency scene. This is a
great advantage to Gladiator clients as ‘this service alone could cost R6 000 to R8 000, according to the prescribed rates of private ambulance companies,’ Bradnick says.

or 018 786 1330. The company currently endeavours to deliver response times of no more than eight minutes in
Carletonville and fourteen minutes in Fochville.
All Gladiator’s security personnel are being trained up to Level 3 in first aid so that, if they come across the need,
they can help. Thanks to Bradnick’s years of experience in fire fighting, sharing all those years of knowledge has
equipped security personnel to even be able to assist in giving a hand with fire related emergencies as was experienced in a recent house fire in Jacobs Street in Carletonville.
The biggest field of expertise of Gladiator, however, still lies in the rendering of expert security services, which is
what the company is renowned and trusted for. These services include (but are not limited to) advanced technical
installations, technical support, alarm monitoring, remote off-site CCTV monitoring, armed response services, polygraph examinations and physical guarding.
The company’s more than 100 security personnel, who are all registered with PSIRA (Private Security Industry
Regulatory Authority) are all highly trained and have the necessary competency certificates.
All Gladiator’s active security personnel and guards are trained in firearms and are in possession of firearm competency certificates (which is compulsory, should anyone wish to apply for a position in this magnificent company).
