"We believe that the move to the earlier time slot on Saturdays at 21h00 will yield better audiences".

One of Mzansi’s favourite SABC 2 music show Afro Café moves to a new timeslot. The show moves from the original Wednesday’s 22h00 slot to Saturdays 21h00, starting this Saturday (May 07) 2016.

“Afro Café now in its 12th season is one of our flag ship programmes on SABC 2. Over the years, viewers have enjoyed the very best in South African music and talent.

“We believe that the move to the earlier time slot on Saturdays at 21h00 will not only yield better audiences and revenues but will also offer alternative viewing over the weekend as this slot is dominated by movies,” SABC 2 Programme Manager, Jacqui Hlongwane said.

“Music has a universal appeal and we feel this property is better suited for a weekend offering, Hlongwane added, indicating further that viewers will be able to catch the repeat episodes on Wednesdays at 22h00
