Generations: The Legacy stays strong (video)

SABC1 head honchos and Generations producer Mfundi Vundla probably gave a sigh of relief: Generations The Legacy is the most watched TV show in South Africa.


The first episode of the revamped show, which aired on December 1, drew in over 10 million viewers from across South Africa.

The final episode that aired before the show went on hiatus drew in more than 8 million viewers, and it seems that audience has been sitting in wait for the show to return. The final ratings will be available on 5 December for the week 49 and will paint a clearer picture.

The second week of Generations: The Legacy is set to get a tad more scandalous. SABC1 has released the following teasers:

Monday 8 December
Episode 06

Angela can’t help being envious of golden boy Smanga. Getty realises something is seriously wrong with her niece. If only Karabo knew what her husband is up to…

Tuesday 9 December
Episode 07

Namhla threatens to tell all to the police. Simphiwe doesn’t like playing second fiddle to the Morokas.
Mary is delighted to hear the boss’ wife is out of town.

Wednesday 10 December
Episode 08

Jonathan realises he’ll have to up his game to get the girl. Mazwi is determined to complete his quest, no matter the cost. Gadaffi knows of the perfect way to hit Tau where it hurts.

Thursday 11 December
Episode 09

Tshidi sets her devious plan into motion. Getty punches her surprised date in the face. Lucy ignores her daughter’s cries, unaware of the imminent danger.

Friday 12 December
Episode 10

Simphiwe is hurt when she’s told to go back home. The family is shocked to see Namhla’s new look. Angela takes the bait, not knowing that she’s being manipulated.
