Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder married for ‘real’ since 1992

According to the actor and actress, they have been 'technically married' for nearly three decades now.

A celebrity couple we did not see coming. However, the claims made by actors Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder that they are husband and wife dates back decades.

Reeves and Ryder starred in the 1992 film, Dracula. Speaking to US media, Ryder says the scene of their wedding in the film was actually real after the director of the movie, Francis Ford Coppola, hired a Romanian priest to officiate the scene.

Reeves confirmed this, after the two starred in another film together in 2006, called A Scanner Darkly. He said they are technically married.

“We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are, Coppola says we are. I guess we are married under the eyes of God,” he said.

This is not the first time Ryder has made these claims. She has said so several times in the past and has done so again.

“No I swear to God, I think we are married in real life,” as she repeated the events that occurred on the day of filming.

This video is no longer available.

Ryder admits she did have a big crush on him all those years ago and has always had a “soft spot” for Reeves.

In a joint interview, the John Wick star also admitted he had a crush on her too.

But the two are in relationships with different people in real life. Reeves is currently seeing visual artist Alexandra Grant.

Elle magazine reported that Grant and Reeves were long time friends before things turned romantic. The couple made their red carpet debut in February 2019 for LACMA Art + Film Gala.

Ryder’s romantic life is quite private too. She has been dating Scott Mackinglay Hahn since 2011.
