‘F**k you twice over’ – Unathi allegedly attacks

Private messages allegedly sent by singer and Idols judge Unathi Msengana to a Twitter user have leaked and show the woman being called a “PSYCHO B***H”.

The private messages seems to be Msengana’s response to a tweet under the hashtag #UnathiBeLike, which trended yesterday on Twitter as a parody of Msengana comments on black students facing racism at Stellenbosch University.

The messages read: “Do you think insulting me, my marriage and my sexuality is going to change your situation? You’re a f***ing idio if so.”

This tweet she was meant to point out the apparent logical fallacy of her argument that black students should not enroll at Stellenbosch being aware of its language policies, which have been criticised for being exclusionary.

These are the alleged messages by Msengana to @ThisIsPalo, who leaked them earlier today:

Unathi Msengana’s comments that triggered #UnathiBeLike were made on her radion show on Metro FM and were sparked by the documentary Luister, a documentary on the continuing racism that black students experience at the university.

“You cannot say that they said Afrikaans wouldn’t [be an issue]. How do we fight for you. That’s my point. Be fair guys. I know it hurts,” She wrote to @ThisIsPalo, a conversation that lead to the heated exchange in the direct messages.

Msengana could not be reached for comment.
