‘Here’s to friendship’ – Simz Ngema and Tino break up

Simz Ngema made the announcement on Sunday, saying that she and Tino Chinyani will remain friends going forward.

A couple that many did not see coming, singer Simphiwe ‘Simz’ Ngema and model Tino Chinyani are no longer together.

Ngema made the announcement on Instagram on Sunday, sharing that there were no hard feelings but rather they will remain friends.

The couple has one child together, a son, Tiyani who turned one in July. It seems the former couple also had a “beautiful weekend” together just hours before the news broke out.

“This has been one of my greatest experiences, a beautiful love story of two people fighting all the odds to be together. I have learnt to love again, to feel again, to live again and to smile again. I will forever be grateful for Everything you have taught me. I pray that God gives us the strength and wisdom to raise our beautiful son. @tiyani_chinyani we will always be great parents to you and we will always be there for you.

“No tears here, just lessons learnt and beautiful memories. I really had a beautiful fun weekend. Here’s to friendship and dope ass co-parenting,” Ngema wrote.

The spilt may come as a surprise to fans, as the pair have been shared loving messages praising each other in recent days.

Ngema wished Tino a happy birthday last week, praising the man he had become and the type of father he was.

“Dear Tinotenda Chinyani. You did it, you are finally becoming the man you’ve always wanted to be and it’s beautiful to see. It hasn’t been easy but you keep doing it. I am so proud of you. Your life is inspiring and if this is only the beginning, I cannot wait to see what God has in store for you. [I] love you Baba Ka Bhuka. You are an amazing father to our son and I will forever be grateful for the gift you’ve given me. I wish you love, joy and peace that surpasses human understanding and I pray that one day, you see yourself through my eyes. I see a KING.”
