Why Metro FM suspended T-Bo Touch

He also reportedly introduced the new segment Gospel Replenish without obtaining permission from his boss.

Metro FM DJ T-Bo Touch was reportedly suspended from the station because he got involved in a physical confrontation with one of his producers.

In a report by the Sunday World, Metro FM reportedly lost at least R15 million in advertising as a result. The Touchdown presenter was asked to read an advert on air, to which he objected, and put down the phone on his boss Sibongile Mtyali when she confronted him about the alleged insubordination and defiance.

Touch is also being accused of violating the station’s playlist policy when he played music he allegedly personally selected and refused to play music the compiler instructed him to play.

He also reportedly introduced the new segment Gospel Replenish without obtaining permission from Mtyali, further refusing to cut down the show’s duration form an hour to 30 minutes.

Touch reportedly further defied instructions from his bosses to do at least two interviews on his show, allegedly saying it would sap his energy.

The station had reportedly given Touch until last week Friday to explain in writing why he should not be fired.

Touch, however, does not seem to be bothered with the allegations, as he went on Twitter to share that he had a “greeting meeting” with Vodacom about a partnership with #TouchConvoy to the Vodacom Durban July.
