Hard Rock Cafe launches music series

The music series will create a movement of new legends and continue to put Africa on the map.

Hard Rock Cafe Sandton will be launching their first live performance Summer Music Series on Thursday, January 31 featuring Langa Mavuso, Nelisiwe Sobiya and Yonela.

The series is to take place every Tuesday and Thursday, inviting young and old artists to showcase their art on the Hard Rock Cafe stage, one that has been graced by a number of accomplished musicians like Arno Carstens, Gangs of Ballet, Berita and Prime Circle.

South African music legends like Hugh Masekela, Lady Smith Black Mambazo and Miriam Makeba have laid the foundation and left a legacy for the South African Jazz and township jive.

The series will create a movement of new legends and continue to put Africa on the map by sharing the best talent with the world on the Hard Rock Cafe stage.

“Not only will we have amazing live performances, but we will be documenting it through live streaming and by engaging with our audience through Clip Aisle [advanced technology that makes it possible for audiences to record videos during live concerts with amazing sound from any smartphone], building a cloud of live music experiences that will be mastered into HD sound,” says Catherine Dickinson on behalf of Hard Rock Cafe
