Muvhango bids farewell to Chief Azwindini after 23 years
It's the end of the road for Gabriel Temudzani on Muvhango after more than 20 years on the show.

Tonight Muvhango will bid farewell to one of the most popular characters on the show, Chief Azwindini Gandamifa Mukwevho. The character was portrayed by the talented Gabriel Temudzani, who has been with the show for over 2 decades.
Reacting to the end of his character on the show, Gabriel said Chief Azwindini will live forever.
“Life is a collective, and it’s well lived when it’s shared. The Chief of Thathe shall live forever,” he said.
Azwindini’s exit
On Friday, Muvhango viewers witnessed the passing of the Chief of Thathe after he was gunned down by his cousin and adversary, Tenda.
In today’s episode, viewers will see Tenda, set Chief Azwindini aflame as he continues avenging himself to all that put him in jail.
According to the media statement released by the production, Chief Azwindini’s death will leave the Vhakwevho clan in misery. He will be laid to rest later this month under the royal family customs.
“The untimely death of the chief will leave the Mukwevho clan in shock, and bring along with it a wave of family drama expected to lead to chaos in the royal house. The royal family will now be faced with the daunting task of navigating the aftermath of this tragedy, which is sure to be a challenging and emotional process,” the statement reveals.
Tenda’s revenge mission
Tenda kicked off his mission by kidnapping Chief Azwindini’s wife, Susan, and then tampered with evidence to frame the chief for Susan’s disappearance.
He later planned for Azwindini’s arrested, but the police discovered that he was innocent and the warrant of arrest was not issued. This allowed Tenda to bring the chief into his presence before his ex-wife and the mother of his children, where he killed him.

Fans bid farewell to Gabriel
Fans have taken to social media platforms to react to Gabriel’s exit. Wishing the actor well for the future, @Am_BlueJay said: “Gabriel Temudzani was the face of Muvhango, I can’t imagine the soapie without him, when you think Muvhango you think Suzan and Chief Azwindini Mukwevho, all the best in your other endeavors Chief 🙏”
