One Direction dagga video shock

Video has emerged that allegedly shows members of popular band One Direction laughing and joking about dagga as they apparently share a 'joint'.

In the footage released by MailOnline, Louis Tomlinson, 22, narrates from behind the camera as the band. The video was reportedly shot during on the way to the band’s performance at Peru’s Estadio Nacional in Lima stadium in April.

Tomlinson announces as they drive, ‘So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days!’

During the journey Louis is heard joking with bandmate Zayn Malik, 21, sitting in the car besides him. Fellow bandmates  Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Niall Horan were not in the car and are believed to have been travelling in different cars.

The sight of a police officer on a motorbike escorting them, is met with great excitement. Louis notes: “That’s the police. That’s the po po. One-nil.”

At one point Louis seems to contemplate whether this will come back to him. “Who knows? Maybe. Maybe not.’

Later he pans to a police motorcyclist driving past. “He’s having a look. He’s thinking, “I’m sure I can smell an illegal substance in there.” And he’s hit the nail on the head.’

According to Peruvian law, possession of marijuana is not punishable if used for personal and immediate consumption in quantities not exceeding eight grams.

The band, which is due to tour South Africa next year, made history with the highest amount of tickets sold in the least amount of time.

A spokesman for One Direction tonight told MailOnline: ‘The matter is now in the hands of our lawyers’.

Thousands of fans, or “Directioners”, have taken to Twitter to defend the band, while others have said they destroyed or sold their tickets for upcoming concerts.

Put together for a British television singing contest in 2010, they have developed a giant, fiercely loyal following of young girls worldwide.

Their third studio album, “Midnight Memories”, raced to the top of the US Billboard Top 200 chart, making the five-piece the first group in US chart history to debut at number one with their first three albums.

Their video for “Best Song Ever” has attracted nearly 250 million views on YouTube.
