SABC 3 presenter weds in exotic Dubai

SABC 3 presenter of Mela, Zahirah Variawa, has tied the knot with Andrew Marty, an Australian vet to the United Arab Emirates president, in a luxurious beach wedding at Fairmont The Palm in Dubai. The week-long celebration saw personalities from fashion to sport and from all over the world come together to celebrate this union of two worlds.
Guests were treated to a long week of celebrations that began with a private desert safari and included a yacht cruise, day on the golf course, visit to a private car museum belonging to the royal family, an Islamic marriage ceremony and finally the beach wedding.
The pair were married along the waters of the Persian Gulf with 160 of their nearest and dearest from across the world. The event was hosted by South African TV personality and comedian, Siv Ngesi, and was attended by former South African cricket captain, Graeme Smith, and Australian commentator, Drew Morphett. The couple’s wedding will appear in the Summer issue of Harpers Bazaar Bride and will be featured on Mela, SABC3 on Sunday, May 8.
