The CWG showcase a must-go

The showcase of this year’s CWG auction line-up will go under the hammer in Stellenbosch in October, but that doesn’t mean the public is omitted from the equation.

After work drinks just got a lot better on Wednesday night – if you work around Sandton. The Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction Showcase taking place tomorrow not only gives you the opportunity to skip traffic, it’s a special public event where you can experience unique collectors’ wines, crafted exclusively in small volumes for the 2016 Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild (CWG) auction by the Guild’s 47 members.

The showcase of this year’s CWG auction line-up will go under the hammer in Stellenbosch in October, but that doesn’t mean the public is omitted from the equation. In addition to the sought-after 2016 auction wines, the members of the Guild will be presenting some of their acclaimed flagship offerings sold under their own labels.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to contribute toward the Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Development Trust by bidding on rare signed bottles from previous Guild auctions during the Silent Auction.

Founded in 1999, the Development Trust aims to transform the wine industry by educating, training and empowering young talent through initiatives such as its Protégé Programme, an acclaimed mentorship scheme for upcoming winemakers and viticulturists.

The auction showcase takes place at The Atrium, Nedbank, Sandton, from 6pm. Tickets cost R250 per person and includes a Spiegelau tasting glass. Get yours at webtickets.co.za
