Severe thunderstorms predicted by weather service
Take necessary precautions in extreme weather conditions.
As dark clouds move in and thunder can be heard in parts of the province the South African Weather Service has released a warning of severe thunderstorms as well as heavy rain.
- Severe Thunderstorms:
Severe thunderstorm with possible large hail and damaging winds have been predicted with special focus over the extreme south parts of Gauteng (southern parts of the Midvaal municipality).
- Heavy rain:
Heavy rain (>50mm/24hours) is expected in parts of the province.
The community is once again urged to take precautions when travelling and be sure their vehicles and animals have appropriate shelter.
