Load shedding could be on the cards for this evening

Medium to high risk of load shedding - says Eskom.

Load shedding is not expected for the first part of today as there is currently enough electricity generating capacity to meet demand.

In the past seven days (168 hours), Eskom has only had to load shed for an estimated seven hours and 31 minutes.

Eskom said in a statement this morning that the power system is stable at present but is expected to be constrained during the evening peak period (5pm – 9pm).

The company will continue to keep the community updated on the state of the power system and advise the public accordingly should the need to load shed in the evening arise.

“We thank all electricity users for responding to our message to save,” the company said.
