Man arrested for domestic violence in Primrose

Primrose police apprehended a man on a charge of domestic violence in Primrose.

A Makause informal settlement woman opened a case of domestic violence against the 34-year-old father of her child.

“The complainant alleged that she was home when the accused banged on her door,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“She opened the door for him and he allegedly told her he was very drunk and she must help him to climb into bed, but the complainant refused.

“The accused reportedly climbed into bed himself and then demanded to have sex with the complainant, but once again she refused.”

The man allegedly became aggressive and hit the victim with a brick, a can and a chair.

“The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for medical attention,” said Maome.

The man was arrested on a charge of domestic violence and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
