They recently had two good outings, one a day trip to Henley on Klip. Interestingly, they were the first bus tour Henley on Klip.
Most tours of this village, founded in 1904, are bicycle tours.
On arrival in Henley on Klip, they had tea with cream scones at the About Time coffee shop and, on their return from the guided tour, had lunch there.
The BAE members saw the Circle of Life in Fraser Park, a concentric circle of memorial plaques and trees.
They admired the architecture of the original houses built from stone and drove past Oprah Winfrey’s Leadership Academy.
They walked around the old 1800s cemetery at St Paul’s Anglican Church and even saw a dikkop/thick-knee bird’s egg, camouflaged amongst the gravestones.

There were many other sights, like the Oval, a park with Spanish-style houses around it.
The other outing was a morning tea visit to the Limoni Restaurant at the Qurtuba Resort in their boutique hotel in Linbro Park.
Before morning tea, management took them on a tour of the resort.
“We saw the petting zoo with camels, donkeys, llamas, emus, goats, peacocks, guinea fowl, and more.

“At the hotel, we also saw their conference facilities. One room comprises exquisite small wooden mosaics, beautiful gardens and a swimming pool.
“The décor of the Limoni Restaurant is Middle Eastern with attractive stained glass windows.
“The service was good, and the atmosphere was jovial,” said the BAE chairperson, Janet Brodrick.
