Germiston school receives boost as Parrot Products supports future classroom project

A new smart screen and upcoming fundraiser aim to support a future-ready language lab at Galway Primary School.

Parrot Products recently sponsored a 65-inch LED Smart Touch Screen solution to Galway Primary School in support of Walking The Talk Foundation’s upcoming fundraiser to equip the school with a classroom of the future.

According to Dale van Blerk, founder and director of Walking the Talk Foundation, the donation will allow educators to present interactive and engaging lessons across all subjects.

He said teachers will also receive full training on how to use both the hardware and software effectively, helping to improve language development and overall learning outcomes.

On April 12, Walking the Talk Foundation, in partnership with Macsteel, will host a 5km fundraiser walk in support of the primary school.

The purpose of the event is to raise the funds to first equip, and later build, a future-ready Language Lab to help uplift and improve Galway Primary.

Van Blerk said the lab will help the school elevate its language curriculum to an international standard.

The event will be held at the Herman Immelman Athletic Stadium (Germiston Stadium).

Tickets for the event will cost R190 and can be bought through Quicket.
