‘New residents’ still sparking controversy

Is the council so spineless?

Pat Pretorius, of Lambton, writes:

I recently read an article in the GCN , “New residents seem set to stay”.

As a ratepayer I find this extremely upsetting and have to say I was shocked.

Nowhere to live?

So vagrants will simply squat on council land and refuse to go until alternate housing is provided.

Where does this sense of entitlement come from?

The metro has just spent millions of Rand on beautifying the lake.

Less than 500 yards from the fountain gracing the entrance to the lake grounds there is the blight of the new Germiston Lake “residents” located at the weir.

The situation is extremely unsightly, unhealthy and disgusting.

Is the metro so spineless that it cannot and/or won’t remove these vagrants?

I hope this matter will be resolved soon.
