SPCA staff are lights in the lives of animals in need

Local resident pleased with the professionalism and care shown by Germiston SPCA staff members.

Jeanette Butler, Germiston writes:

My husband and I recently decided to take a little trip to the local Germiston SPCA after seeing a picture of a beautiful little fur baby in the Germiston City News.

Our hearts broke and melted all at the same time.

So many little faces looking longingly at you for recognition and some love.

We then found our little guy – a sweet little male cross-Maltese terrier who had been surrendered to the SPCA after being left at a border.

You can’t help but have your eyes fill with tears.

How can it be that people surrender pets?

But all I can say is thank the heavens for the amazing staff and people at the SPCA.

Their hearts are big enough to help all those animals, showing affection and love and a tender hand.

These people are angels in a very sad place.

I do not think people realise how challenging their jobs are.

How does an SPCA adoption work?

People need to ask themselves if they would be able to do their job where you can only help so much and heartache is a daily occurrence.

Their strength and dedication is something we could all learn from.

To Jack Levin who is amazing, so much love to give these animals in need, and the other staff members who made our visit to the SPCA one that left us both amazed and so inspired, we say thank you.

I challenge everyone to take time to go to the SPCA to adopt your next pet.

These animals deserve a second chance at a forever home.

If it’s not to adopt a pet then take the staff chocolate cake to make their day a bit brighter and some treats for the animals.

The amazing staff needs love, as well as the animals.

Thank you for a being a light in a sad lonely place – you guys rock.
