The Delville Sports Club hosted the District Soccer Festival over the weekend.
The tournament involves different associations competing against each other.
Football players from different clubs go for trials, where they play and get points and are graded individually by various football associations.
From the accumulated points, the associations then select the players with the highest points to form one team who will represent that specific association at the tournament.
The associations that took part in the recent tournament are Easterns, Rand Central, North Rand and Springs Academy, to mention a few.
The age groups were from u-11 to u-17.
All teams were determined to win and put their all into the games they played.
Easterns, however, played really well in all age groups.
After a two-day battle, this is how the Eastern teams performed:
- u-10 came in second.
- u-11 won the tournament.
- u-12 came fourth.
- u-13 to u-17 won the tournament.
