Christina Pretorius came second in the Battle of the Champions.

Altogether the eight produced 11 gold medals, nine silver and three bronze medals.

“One of my students, Vicky Spies, only joined the academy a month ago and MASA was her first tournament, in which she knocked up two gold medals.

“I am proud of my girls,” said Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre.

“This proves that we are a well-rounded academy, and every student works hard at winning and collecting hardware.”

Green, brown and black belts from the dojo are set to participate in the Great North 2 tournament on August 25.

The kickboxing tournament will be held at the Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre.
