Luso crowned Top Eight champs
Luso Africa FC top pre-season Top Eight Tournament with victory over Robertsham Football Club.
Luso Africa FC’s first senior team rounded off their pre-season preparation on a high after being crowned the Top Eight Tournament winners.
The friendly tournament saw the top eight teams from the 2018 Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) Super League going head-to-head.

The final match between Robertsham FC and Luso took place at Robertsham’s home grounds, on Saturday.
The first teams’ match was another close encounter, with Robertsham scoring the first goal after Luso missed several chances at goal.
The home team maintained their lead heading into half-time.
The visiting team managed to equalise in the second half, with a goal from Igor Ivanov.
The game went into extra time after Robertsham missed a late penalty.
Luso were determined not to let the win slip through their fingers and a goal from Albert Mothapo secured a 2-1 victory for the club.
In the second teams’ clash, Robertsham drew first blood in the second half after a goalless first half.
Luso were given a chance to equalise, but missed a penalty, before Robertsham got their second goal of the match.
The visitors clawed their way back and managed a consolation goal, but it was enough and Robertsham sealed their 3-1 victory with another goal before the final whistle.

Luso, the reigning league champions, will travel to the Germiston City Sports Club, this Saturday, to take on Katlehong-based Zwide FC in their first Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) Super League fixture of the season.
