Heidelberg community comes together for a morning of fun at Klip Kerk Bazaar
The Klip Kerk in Heidelberg was buzzing with activity on September 5, as residents gathered for a morning of cake decorating, stalls, music, entertainment and community fellowship.
The historic Klip Kerk in Heidelberg was transformed into a hive of activity on September 5, when the church hosted its annual bazaar.
The event brought together residents, families, church members and visitors for a morning of entertainment, creativity, shopping and fellowship in a relaxed community atmosphere.
From early in the morning, visitors had the opportunity to browse a variety of stalls, participate in activities, support the church’s fundraising initiatives and spend time with friends and family.
One of the highlights of the bazaar was the cake-decorating activity, which allowed participants to unleash their creativity and design their own dream cakes.
The hands-on activity provided fun for participants while adding a colourful and creative element to the morning’s programme.
Participants were also able to take their decorated cakes home afterwards, making the activity a memorable part of the bazaar.
Registration for the cake-decorating activity was available before the event at Laer Volkies and the church office.
Visitors could also register at the cake-decorating stall on the day, allowing those who had not registered beforehand to participate.
The bazaar featured a range of other stalls and activities, offering something for visitors of different ages and interests.
The stalls were an important part of the church’s fundraising efforts, while also allowing visitors to shop, browse, and discover a variety of items.
Preparations for the 2026 bazaar also included a Witolifanttafel, or white-elephant table, with members of the congregation encouraged to donate unwanted but usable items.
The initiative gave donated items a new purpose while contributing towards the church’s fundraising efforts.
Music was another feature of the morning, helping create a lively and festive atmosphere at the church.
The bazaar also provided an opportunity for people to reconnect and strengthen community relationships.
