A man was shot five times by two hi-jackers when he stopped his Nissan bakkie next to the R550 in the Glenroy farming area at 10:00 this morning. The road was blocked off by police while paramedics from Heidelberg Medical Volunteers and Lesedi Fire and Rescue tended the injured victim. Police from all over Gauteng and CPF members soon swarmed the area in search of the hi-jackers. ER24’s helicopter landed at noon to transport the victim to hospital. According to Constable William Tshabangu, who was first on the scene and joined in the search for the suspects, one hi-jacker was arrested just after 11:00.
