SAPS Nigel found Doctor Ndlovu’s body in the Blesbokspruit after a group of men were chased off a business property on 5 November.
Geoserve Plant Equipment personnel came across alleged burglars while they were cutting the fence enclosing scrap metal and equipment around 16:00 and chased them away.
It was believed the three men attempted to enter the property and steal scrap metal and equipment before escaping through the Blesbokspruit.
“Geoserve personnel chased the three men from the property where they then disappeared behind a hill leading onto the Blesbokspruit.
SAPS Nigel arrived shortly after the incident and found two of the three men on the embankment of the Blesbokspruit pointing towards the water”, SAPS Nigel spokesperson W/O Madeleine von Wielligh said.
The alleged offenders jumped into the Blesbokspruit in an attempt to escape with only two reaching the other side. Doctor struggled to stay above water and drowned.
SAPS divers recovered Doctor’s body on November 6 with no arrests made.
